Product Information
This early 19th-century print dates from 1800-1805 from the etchings Jacques Lavalle and Felice Giani after the original work by the Dutch painter and one of the leaders of the Dutch Golen Age leaders, Aelbert Cuyp. This original engraving and etching print details a landscape scene of three horseback riders returning from a hunt, with hunting dogs at the left bottom of the image and a game bird on the far left edge of the image.
This scene is inline and characteristic of Cuyp’s landscapes, including views of Dutch waterways, rivers, and romantic scenes in a rising or dimming sky. A superb warm engraved etching from a master illustrator after a brilliant artist of the Golden period. This art print has come to us from a prominent midwestern collector of 18th and 19th-century prints and multiples.
