							Product Information
Tage Frid (1915-2004) was a Danish-American woodworker, teacher, and author who was known for his contributions to the field of furniture design and woodworking. Frid was born in Denmark and immigrated to the United States in 1936, where he attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He later worked as a designer for the furniture company Knoll, and in the 1950s, he began teaching woodworking at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Frid is considered a pioneer of the modern furniture movement and was known for his clean, minimalist designs and his use of traditional craftsmanship techniques. He wrote several books on woodworking, including “Fine Woodworking on Furniture” and “Tage Frid Teaches Woodworking,” considered classic texts in the field. This fine original handmade plate by Frid is a beautiful example of his modernist aesthetic.
