This chrome-plated box features a Deco style deep geometric red bakelite trim and handle through the center lid. The box features a removable three-compartment sandalwood tray. The underside of the box is signed Chase. Known as Chase Brass and Copper Co. of Waterbury, Connecticut, Chase was one of the most well-known giftware designers of the 1930s.

Chase incorporated the leading industrial designers of the period to help create their Chromium housewares line, including Russel Wright, Harry Laylon, Lurelle Guild, Walter von Nessen, and the Gerths. They presented a grand American interpretation of the Art Deco style, which adds an alluring and authentic mystic to your interior decor. Ideal as a trinket box, cigarette box, or as a decorative accessory for a desk or side table.

The box displays surface abrasions and a small dent to one corner edge—the inside sandal wood paneling with chips.
