This jewelry pendant comes to us from a collection of Chinese pendant carvings in the Northeast collected over the years from various purchases. While we believe the item to be a form of hardstone jade, we do not believe the carving is jadeite. The color of the pendant is a cool celadon greenish-white, with hints of russet maple or amber hues. The top portion of the carving displays an inscribed primitive decoration and a center mounting hole for mounting to a necklace stand.
