Product Information
This pair of vintage malachite earrings are framed in sterling silver .925, and feature inset rounded carved and polished panels of the green gemstone. The backs of the earrings feature impressed hallmarks marked GFMM placed inside a four-quarter divided circle. The age of this pair of earrings is approximately from the 3rd quarter of the 20th century, circa the 1960s
They are designed in a typical mid-century modern or modernist form, almost in line with the sterling silver and semi-precious jewelry made in Mexico from the 1940s-1970s in the line of Taxco and some of their exceptionally talented and known metalsmiths, and jewelry markers such as Los Castillo, Los Ballesteros, and Antonio Pineda.

Dimensions
This pair of earrings measures 0.95 x 0.85 inches.
Condition
The condition of these earrings shows wear, tarnish, and oxidation to the sterling silver frames. The back of the earrings is unmatched and probably not original to the earrings. The inlaid malachite panels feature chips and inclusions to the stone, probably done before the stones are inset into the earring frames.
