The State of Georgia Twenty-Five Cents 1863 Banknote. Confederate currency was issued in Milledgeville, Georgia, on January 1, 1863. Denomination of twenty-five (25) cents. In part, it reads, “THE STATE OF GEORGIA / Will pay the bearer TWENTY FIVE CENTS at the Treasury / in Confederate Treasury Notes when presented in sums of Five Dollars and upwards.”
