Decorate your tabletop decor with dazzling objects and shop this jade trinket box for sale. Retailed by American jewelry company Black, Starr & Frost, this turn of the century trinket box is richly decorated in hand hammed sterling silver, agate, and jade. The top jade box handle consists of an elaborate scrolling Chinese lingzhi and chilong form jade belt buckle.
The Qing dynasty buckle dating to the 18th/19th century is ornately decorated with openwork and high relief geometric decorations in an archaic style reminiscent of the Zhou dynasty’s archaic Chinese bronzes. The vibrant agate hardstone panel below the fine jade buckle is smoothly buffed and retains a brilliantly smooth texture. The sterling silver box is ornately decorated in a greek key designed rim, and the interior of the box is decorated in a vermeil gold wash.
Black, Starr, and Front opened in 1810 and is the oldest y American Jewelry company operating jewelry firm today. Throughout their history, the company had served predominantly as a retailer rather than a manufacturer. This box is an example of their signature style of incorporating historically significant objects into their decorative works of art. This trinket box is a brilliant and dazzling addition for desk decor or tabletop decor for any space. The box’s size is perfect for business cards, as a smoking box, or for any other variety of small items, or as a stand-alone decorative box loved for its ornate and stunning visual quality. This box dates to the early 20th century, circa 1900-1910, and comes to us from a long time collector of Asian, Chinese, and Art Deco era antiques and decorative works of art in the New England area.
